  1. Welcome to the Service Training Tests folder!  
  2.  
  3. The final tests associated with Service Training's follow-up curriculum are enclosed.  For your convenience, these electronic tests are now available on Service Source CD and AppleLink.  
  4.  
  5. To complete the HyperCard electronic tests, you need to have either a compact, modular or PowerBook Macintosh computer with at least 6 MB of RAM, System 7.0 or greater,
  6. and a hard drive with HyperCard 2.1.
  7.  
  8. The following electronic tests require HyperCard 2.1:
  9. • Introduction to Macintosh Service
  10. • Introductin to Laser Printer Service
  11. • Introduction to Apple Monitor Service 
  12. • LaserWriter Pro Service Course
  13. • LaserWriter Pro 810 Service Course
  14. • LaserWriter Select Service Course
  15. • Personal LaserWriter Service Course
  16. • Color StyleWriter Service Course
  17.  
  18. The following electronic tests are stand alone applications and do not require HyperCard:
  19. • Introduction to PowerBook Service
  20. • Introduction to Apple Color Laser Printing 
  21. • Color Laser Writer 12/600PS
  22. • PowerBook 100 Series
  23. • PowerBook 200 Series
  24. • PowerBook 500 Series

  26. IMPORTANT:  The HyperCard electronic tests WILL NOT operate with HyperCard Player or
  27. HyperCard 2.2.1.  Be sure to REMOVE HyperCard Player or HyperCard 2.2.1 from
  28. your hard drive before launching the on-line test.

  30. WARNING: IF YOU QUIT OR CLOSE THE ON-LINE TEST STACK BEFORE YOU HAVE COMPLETED
  31. IT, YOUR ANSWERS WILL BE ERASED!

  33. PLEASE NOTE: The name on your certificate is taken from the profile card at
  34. the beginning of the on-line test stack.  For example, if you enter your name in
  35. all capital letters, your name on the certificate will be in capital letters.
  36.  
  37. If you need help while taking the HyperCard on-line tests, click the Student icon to
  38. access the student services. Then click the Help button. The Help function is
  39. modeled after Balloon Help.  When you use Help, you get information by simply
  40. moving the cursor around the screen.

  42. SCORING THE TEST
  43.  
  44. When you finish the test, the application will automatically score it. If you
  45. pass, you are given the option to print a temporary certificate. If you do not
  46. pass the on-line test, you may re-take the test until you do pass. When you
  47. have finished and passed the test, an AppleLink "Send Me" file is automatically
  48. placed in your AppleLink Out Basket, which is inside your system folder on your
  49. hard disk.

  51. OPTIONS FOR SENDING YOUR TEST RESULTS TO APPLE
  52.  
  53. •  Connect to the AppleLink network.
  54. •  Choose Send Items in Out Basket from the Mail menu to send the test results
  55. to Apple.
  56. •  Choose Disconnect from the Network menu and quit AppleLink.
